COURSE: Technical aspects of experiments in advanced light microscopy

Dear Czech-BioImaging users,

you are welcome to register to the annual practical course Technical aspects of experiments in advanced light microscopy from 29thto 31th May 2024, which takes place at the lab of Biomathematics, building Da I., IPHYS, Krc Campus.

This course will highlight the major pitfalls of experimental design and demonstrate them in the field of light microscopy and image analysis. The participants will receive an extensive overview of, for instance:

  • hypothesizing, sampling, data dependency, statistical power or hypothesis testing
  • data acquisition using high-end microscopes such Leica Stellaris 8 Falcon or Bruker Ultima
  • imaging methods such as FLIM/PLIM or label-free methods such as SHG, THG, CARS
  • data treatment, data processing and analysis with traditional approaches, stereology or AI tools in Fiji or virtual reality
  • data interpretation, figure making and result presentation.

In addition, the participants and lecturers always have a vivid discussion about the participants’ projects or modern techniques and tools. The course is highly recommended for undergraduate and Ph.D. students, however, anyone interested in light microscopy, data processing and analysis or research methodology is warmly welcomed.

The program of the course is here and the tuition fee is 40 EUR including refreshment and lunch.
