We are delighted to let you know that on Wednesday 6th November 2019, Euro-BioImaging's ERIC (European Research Infrastructure Consortium) status was finally announced in the Official Journal of the European Union.
With its ERIC status, Euro-BioImaging is now legally recognised as a European research infrastructure for biological and biomedical imaging, providing life scientists with open access to a broad range of technologies and resources.
Testament to the remarkable efforts of many, Euro-BioImaging ERIC has launched with 15 founding members: Austria, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Denmark, EMBL, Finland, France, Hungary, Israel, Italy, Norway, Netherlands, Portugal, Sweden, and the UK. Belgium will participate as an observer. This equates to 21 Nodes, located in 9 different countries across Europe. Henceforth, Finland will host the Statutory Seat, the access gateway, and manage the overall coordination of Euro-BioImaging ERIC, while EMBL will coordinate access to biological imaging, and Italy will coordinate access to biomedical imaging. EMBL will also coordinate Euro-BioImaging’s data services via the BioImage Archive to store and share imaging data.
All of Euro-BioImaging services are accessible here.
The full login functionality of the web portal will be available after the first Euro-BioImaging Board meeting which is due to take place on the 12th and 13th December.
