Dear Czech-BioImaging users,
we are thrilled to announce that Vladislav Krzyžánek, a member of the Czech-BioImaging Core Facility Electron Microscopy and Raman Spectroscopy at the Institute of Scientific Instruments of the Czech Academy of Sciences, was elected President of the European Microscopy Society (EMS) on August 29, 2024 during the society’s conference EMC2024 in Copenhagen, Denmark.
Vladislav Krzyžánek will get the opportunity to utilize the experience he has from leading the Czechoslovak Microscopy Society. He is the first representative from Eastern and Central Europe to become the President of the European Microscopy Society.
The European Microscopy Society (EMS) unites scientists and engineers specializing in optical and electron microscopy, as well as other advanced visualization techniques. It serves as an umbrella organization for national groups and stands as the leading authority in this field across Europe. The society’s operations, including awarding EMS prizes and scholarships to students, are overseen by a committee now chaired by Vladislav Krzyžánek.
Congratulations!
